Course Description
The course aims to provide the students with scientific knowledge on structure of the atom, sources of energy and the pollution problems.
This course prepares students sitting for the (Brevet) official exam.
This course covers topics such as the development of the atomic model, fundamental particles of the atom, atomic number and atomic mass, isotopes and atomic mass, mole, electron arrangements in atoms, the periodic table, covalent and ionic bonding, oxidation-reduction reactions, electrochemical cells, hydrocarbons, alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, benzene, esterification, major sources of energy, synthetic materials, pollution, natural cycles of matter, addressing pollution problems.
